Getting to know them: Chase Smith

In this new installment of our “getting to know them” blog series, we introduce Chase Smith, a Vice President of Development with our Indianapolis, IN office. Chase joined Holladay in 2018 as a Developer, while studying for his Master of Business Administration from Purdue University. Join us in getting to know Chase!

Q: What do you like most about working for Holladay Properties?

Chase: I love our entrepreneurial culture that enables us to look at all types of deals”¦it makes every day interesting and challenging. This dynamic also attracts a certain type of person, which makes us feel truly like a team working towards a common goal.

Q: Before working at Holladay, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

Chase: In college I worked at a canoe company that took people down the White River in Indianapolis”¦some pretty wild stories came out of there

Q: Where is your hometown?

Chase: Noblesville, Indiana

Q: What did you want to be when growing up?

Chase: Pretty much always wanted to be a businessman”¦that’s what my Dad was and I worked with him in various capacities from a really young age.

Q: Favorite vacation destination?

Chase: Florida…never been anywhere else really”¦but hoping to go West soon

Q: What is one thing you cannot live without?

Chase: Exercise: Pumping iron (lifting weights)

Q: What is your biggest pet peeve?

Chase: Criticism offered without an alternative solution

Q: What is something on your bucket list?

Chase: Going to South America and seeing the Amazon rainforest

Q: Do you have any hobbies or passions outside of the office?

Chase: I buy, work on, and sell used vehicles; mostly Jeeps. I have also coached youth football/baseball/basketball on and off for 10 years.

Q: What is something about your family, education or background that you would like to share?

Chase: I have a 26 year old sister, a 21 year old brother, and a 12 year old brother. They all, plus my parents live in the Indy area so I spend as much time with them as I can.

Q: What is something people would be surprised to know about you?

Chase: I am fluent in Spanish…probably a bit rusty though
