(Indianapolis, IN) – On a warm Friday afternoon at the Indy Urban Acres Farm in Indianapolis, a group of Holladay Properties volunteers put on their work gloves with shovels in hand to clean up a chicken coop, pull weeds, and lay down fresh mulch to get the property ready for the annual Farmraiser event on September 22. The volunteers spent a grueling day working hard for the collection of four organic farms that donates 100% of its produce to food pantries and low-income families. Indy Urban Acres was established in 2011 to empower and educate people by providing equitable access to free, high quality produce. The farm works to educate thousands of youth through tours and farm-to-plate workshops, provide community engagement to volunteers and groups, and teach teens valuable job skills.
