Holladay plans launch of transformative residential, retail project

Holladay Properties has detailed its plans for Glenwood Station, a mixed-use development that will renew a key site in Glen Ellyn, IL, a historic western suburb of Chicago.

The residential and retail project located at 460 Crescent Boulevard will transform the area, once home to a familiar downtown grocery store, into a powerful economic development tool in the village, said Drew Mitchell, VP-Development for Holladay Properties.

“Glen Ellyn has been looking for ways to revive the former McChesney & Miller site for several years, and this is exactly the development we can launch that that will help them do great things in a critical area, “Mitchell said.

Glenwood Station is a planned five-story masonry building with 86 spacious apartments that will embrace the intersection of Crescent Boulevard and Glenwood Avenue. The plans also include 1,500 square feet of commercial space on the first floor, ideal for a boutique retail shop, café, or personal services business.

Glenwood Station’s amenities will include a large, multi-level lobby, clubhouse that opens to an exterior terrace, fitness center, private meeting room, business center, craft studio, pet spa, and bike studio. Located just one block from a commuter train station, the project will also feature ample indoor parking on the first floor and basement levels as well as electric vehicle charging stations.

The design and location of Glenwood Station are ideal for a transit-oriented development and for the village’s growth. The project is an example of a true partnership between a successful development team and community leaders.

“Glenwood Station is a gorgeous building with abundant living space, next to public transportation, and it will perfectly fit with Glen Ellyn’s vision for the area and the village,” said Michael O’Connor, Holladay Properties’ VP-Leasing & Development. “The Village of Glen Ellyn truly wants to grow, and Glenwood Station will attract residents who range from millennials just getting started to empty-nesters who want to enjoy easy access to a walkable, vibrant downtown area.”
